Preacher Training Program

For the past several years the saints at the Kirkwood Church of Christ have determined that training young men for the task of preaching the gospel to be a worthwhile goal and endeavor. That goal has taken on the shape of our preacher-training program. Since its inception 13 men have worked with the congregation here and have assisted with duties of preaching the gospel locally. They have also had the opportunity to learn from our elders and our full-time preacher L.A. Stauffer. They have led bible classes, expanded their knowledge base, taught new converts and in many other ways grown so that they can become more prepared and able to take on the role of a full-time preacher of the gospel. The men work with the congregation for approximately 2-year spans. Although it is hard to let them go after having them here for a couple of years, it is rewarding to have them back to hold gospel meetings for us and to hear reports of their successes in our locations.
